Venue

OPODIS'26 will take place at the IMDEA Software Institute, which is located in the Montegancedo Science and Technology Park about 10km from Madrid city center:

IMDEA Software Building

Although IMDEA is connected to Madrid by public transport, we will provide buses for OPODIS participants at the beginning and the end of each day of the conference. The buses will depart from the Moncloa metro station in Madrid, which is served by lines 3 and 6 of the metro. We strongly recommend booking a hotel in the city centre of Madrid, preferably close to the Moncloa station.

If you miss the OPODIS bus, there is an alternative nearby: bus 865 takes you from the Moncloa station to IMDEA (last stop) in about 20 minutes. A ticket costs 3€, and you can pay with a contactless debit/credit card or in cash (small change needed). You can also use this bus should you need to leave early. Its stops near IMDEA are as follows:

Departures of the 865 bus from Moncloa to IMDEA: 7:50, 8:20, 9:35, 10:20, 13:35, 14:40, 16:30, 18:30.
Departures of the 865 bus from IMDEA to Moncloa: 13:10, 14:10, 15:45, 17:25, 19:05.

If you decide to take a taxi or a ride-hailing service, entering "IMDEA Software" into into the address search box in the app should work fine. For further ways of reaching the IMDEA Software Institute, see here.

Conference Banquet

The banquet will be held at 8pm on Thursday, December 10 at Sidrería Donosti, located at Calle de Luisa Fernanda, 21, Madrid:

Getting to Madrid

You can get from the Madrid airport to the city center by metro, taxi (fixed price to the city center: 33 euros), or an airport bus (runs 24 hours a day). If taking the metro, start by taking line 8 to the Nuevos Ministerios station, which connects to the rest of the urban transport network. See the Madrid tourism web-site for more information. Madrid is also well-connected to other major Spanish cities by high-speed rail. There are three companies operating these routes: Renfe, Ouigo and Iryo.

Accommodation

We recommend booking a hotel close to the the Moncloa metro station. December is a busy season in Madrid, so attendees are advised to book early. We have reserved a block of rooms at the Exe Moncloa hotel at a special rate: 160 euros/night for a double room for single use and 170 euros/night for a double room, including breakfast. The special rate is only available when booking one month in advance, so if you are arriving on December 8, you have to book by November 7. Please book using this link. Here are some other hotels near the Moncloa station with good reviews:

You may also get good deals by staying at various no-frills hotels in the vicinity, which are called "hostales".

Eating

Madrid has a vibrant food scene that comes with a Spanish peculiarity: most good restaurants open for dinner late, at 8:30pm or, if you are lucky, 8pm. Tapas bars often open earlier and are an option for a light dinner.
